I’m a big fan of the Jets and I’ve been an avid fan for a few years now, but there are a few issues I feel need to be addressed and a few reasons why they might not be good.
First of all, the Jets offensive line is a mess.
I love how they’ve added offensive linemen and their run game has been solid, but they haven’t been great.
Second, the defensive line has been awful.
If they had the pieces to replace a few of the starters, they could be one of the best defenses in the league.
Third, they’ve struggled with injuries to key players.
For instance, they signed free agent CB Darrelle Revis and CB Marcus Gilchrist both of whom will turn 30 in January.
In addition, they lost LB Darrel Lang and LB David Harris in free agency and signed LB Nick Mangold, a player they drafted to play on the weak side of the defense.
In the past, I’ve said that the Jets have been terrible at drafting and building around players.
That’s no longer the case, and if the Jets can’t develop an offensive line or defense to match the talent of the top tier teams in the NFL, it will be time to start looking elsewhere.
That leaves the quarterback position.
The Jets have made progress at this position this offseason.
The offensive line has improved drastically, but the quarterback market has been a real disaster.
There’s a reason the Jets haven’t signed a QB in the past three years.
They’re waiting on someone to turn things around and have the talent to contend for a Super Bowl.
I have no doubt the Jets will be able to find a quarterback to take them to the Super Bowl, but if they can’t, they’ll have to start from scratch.
Let’s get to the quarterback depth chart.
