Mercedes- AMG’s $70 million S550, which will be the first supercar from the luxury automaker, is being billed as a crossover.
The vehicle has been designed to compete with luxury sedans and SUVs from BMW and Audi.
However, it is only one of several Mercedes-Amg products currently on sale in North America.
The car was released in 2016 and the S550 is scheduled to be on sale for the first time in 2018.
The S550 has been in production since 2010.
In 2018, the automaker introduced the S 600.
The S550 was priced at $55,000 and is the first S-Class supercar sold in North American markets.
The luxury car is now available in all markets, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and the Dominican Republic.
The 2018 Mercedes-Amparaspe model S 550 will be priced at around $60,000.
The automaker has a history of selling luxury cars in North Americans and its flagship model, the S 650, is sold in Japan.
The $70m S550 will be Mercedes- Benz’s first super car in North and Central America.
It is being marketed as a luxury crossover that will compete with the likes of BMW and Mercedes-AMS SUVs.
Its launch in North Carolina and in Texas will also mark the first North American sales of the S-class crossover in 2018, according to Mercedes-AMP.
In a press release, Mercedes- Amg said the S 550 “is a crossover designed for drivers who want a compact, comfortable and powerful SUV that offers outstanding performance, fuel efficiency, and spaciousness.”
The company said it was “delighted” to be able to sell the new S550 in North, Central and South America.
Mercedes- Amparasse is looking to sell 500,000 S550 vehicles annually in 2018 and 2020, according the press release.
The luxury automakers annual production of SUVs in North & Central America totaled approximately 2.6 million vehicles in 2018 as compared to 2.3 million for luxury SUVs and 1.8 million for mid-sized SUVs, according a report from Kelley Blue Book.
The company said the SUVs represented a significant portion of its global market, which grew from 1.7 percent in 2018 to 1.9 percent in 2019.
The Mercedes-amp’s first S550 crossover, the 2018 S550 S 550, will be available in North/Central America in 2018 with a base price of $65,000 with a suggested retail price of around $80,000, according Auto Trends.
