The Coveralls are a set of shoulder pads worn by the Elite: Dangerous crew.
In addition to a standard shield and armor, they also have a small, transparent screen, allowing them to be worn over the helmet, allowing for some extra immersion.
However, a new feature for the Elite Dangerous community, the Coverales, has made it impossible to remove the screen entirely.
While the new Coveralls have been introduced to allow for more immersion, the fix to remove it completely has proven to be a challenge.
In order to remove a Coverales screen, players need to unlock it by interacting with the Elite’s emblem in the Ship and Station UI, but with the new Fix feature in place, that can be done with just a few clicks.
The Fix feature has been added to the game, but only on Mac and Linux.
To enable the feature, players will need to install the “Show Coveralls” toolkit on their operating system.
This toolkit allows players to disable the Coverale screen entirely, but without disabling the “Display Coveralls.”
Once the toolkit is installed, it can be used to remove all coveralls.
Once all coverales have been disabled, players can switch back to the original Elite: Commander UI, which still features coveralls with a transparent screen.
As such, we’ve taken the liberty of breaking down how to install and remove the fix for all platforms, from Windows to Mac and from Linux.
